peanut's one month b-day celebration!

there is a chinese tradition to celebrate the month old birthday of your lil' peanut...so this past sunday while the boston gang was all here, peanut had her first restaurant experience... appropriately set at pf changs in santa monica. kayman experienced vicariously flavors of the orient from kung pao shrimp, mongolian beef to sauteed asparagus through mommy's milk later that evening. here are some pix with la familia:)

family from afar...all to share the love with the lil' nut

we are so blessed to have our loved ones come to visit little peanut....from the boston area this past weekend came Peggy and Sarah. It was a short trip during a long weekend but such a meaningful one, especially when we live across the coast from one another. Being with family is priceless. Just look at lil' kayman with all the folks in da house...everyone holding the nutty nut:))

what to do when peanut is gassy...

such a nice visit with lace this past weekend...learned some new things about parenting the peanut from a pro:) such as how to pump her legs back n' forth to get her to pass gas! lol :-))) it is surprising how much gas a little person can have!

Kayman's first big outing

Peanut's first outing this past weekend was to pasadena to visit Garth, Nysha and Camille. Besides yummy food, great company and conversation, she got to hang out with her pal Camille. Here's a photo borrowed from her friend's blog. We look forward to them growing up and playing together :)

Oh No, Mr. Bill!

Remember Mr. Bill from Sat. Night live? Kayman seems to have taken on this as part of her alter ego, especially when sleeping. Here are some Mr. Bill inspired poses from our Peanut.

De Stijl movement

Crabby's De Stijl installation from college has made it into the nursing gallery...after testing all of the chairs in the house until we broke down and bought a nursing chair, the De Stijl movement's inspired Mondrian Chair turns out to be the best nursing chair in the house. A sturdy armrest, back support...this beat out the comfy club chair and the leather couch to be most functional.

Lord Kayman:)

Peanut loves her vibrating papasan chair. This was a great hand me down from craigs list as we continue on our pledge to re-use and recycle as much as possible. Her head is still a little too big for the rest of her so we have been using her burp cloths to give her more support. This is one of favs...who looks like a member of the british parliament with this burp cloth?:))

Coming home:) Week 1 & 2

Due to complications, we ended up staying in the hospital a few days longer than anticipated but was able to go home on Christmas Eve. Here are some photos of the first 2 weeks of Kayman's life. Her favorite thing to do has been to sleep. She had a little jaundice at first, which made her even sleepier. Our challenge the past 2 weeks has been to get her to stay awake long enough to nurse and feed. Here are some pix of her first car ride home, and then catching some zzzzz....over the days. She also got some visits from her pals. Here is one with Nancy and the Peanut.

A few days ago, she hit a milestone when she gained back all of her birthweight. We are happy to report that she is hitting the 7lb mark now, our little peanut and is waking up to eat regularly. We aren't sure who she takes after yet, but she definitely has claire's chubby cheeks:))
