November 2nd, Oy! daylights savings bites

my time clock is all out of wack....i woke up at the usual 6ish...and come to find that this day was extra looooonnnng! i got all worked up trying to figure out what happened with the extra hour. i know this daylight savings plan will be allow for more play time at the end of the day, but let me tell you, I am exhausted just thinking about it. mommie had to rock me to sleep during nap time to re-boot my clock.

love and kisses,

November 1st-my first pony!

mommie went out to a garage sale this morning and SCORED! she bought me a bunch of outfits for only $1.00 each, and then guess what? for less than the price of a grande latte from starbucks, I got a new pony! it already came outfitted with batteries...i know mommie wasn't too thrilled about the disney branding, but for 3 bucks, it was definitely worth some cheap thrills.:) i am still getting used to the sounds the pony makes when you squeeze the ears. these disney tunes and the "neeeeeeeiigggghhh" from the pony echos along with the "clackety clack" from the virtual runs we are supposed to be on eminates from a speaker inside the stuffed pony's stomach. i am not 100% sure I love it yet, but when i am tired of it, i am confident it will make a good alternative art piece, especially for auntie anne's found art collection.

Afternoon at the park with the girls!

So nice for mommie and sarah to hook up with us girls at the roxbury park this past monday. auntie sarah looks great! impossible to tell she had twins? alix and maddie were lots of fun, especially with the water bottle impromptu keep away game we all played. i am hoping that we make this outing a regular past time, as it was a very relaxing way to spend the afternoon. especially to chase away the monday blues!

october 21st, solstice baby turns 10 months

Dear kayman riley,
you are 10 months old this week! 8 teeth up and running, 2 more coming in as we blog:) you are adept and quick with your finger foods now...curious and following mamma's footsteps in becoming a foodie. i love you more and more everyday and cherish each moments that we spend together. from our daily walks in venice to abbot kinney for a pastry and espresso in the a.m., to running errands, going to the beach, the park, the neighborhood pet store to look at the birds, the venice whole foods that has quite a following...each day is becoming more fun and interactive. i am forever grateful that your neurologist appointment this week went well and that we are going to start weaning you from your seizure meds. now we hope that in a few weeks time, you won't need to take the keppra anymore.
poppa and i look forward to traveling you back east to see auntie alex and the sloanes, auntie peggy, auntie christine, poppa francis and the rest of the mangan clan this holiday season. we will be celebrating your first birthday with family. we have much to be grateful for and look forward to. you continue to be a blessing to us everyday little one!

much love,

October 18th

Dear kayman riley,
You are almost 10 months old! I can't believe how much change I see in you everyday. You are crawling everywhere, you feed yourself at lunch, all of your new sounds and laughter, pulling yourself up around the furniture and all of your SMILES....I LOVE being your momma! You are teaching me about being PRESENT, being in the LOVING, just ENJOYING PLAYING, laughing, exploring with you. You make me see the world in such a new way. You are a bright light that shines in our lives. I missed you when I was away in chi-town. I miss you even now when I am just working in the office during the mornings that Sandy is here to take care of you. I am so GRATEFUL for all of the wisdom and blessings you bring to our lives...and I look forward to celebrating all of the different milestones that we will reach together in the future.

with gratitude and loving,
momma claire

October 13th- hullo? anyone home?

I LOVE shiny, bright things that makes noise...and thus, I AM IN LOVE with her phone! We hung out today today and auntie peggy let me play with her phone. WOOOOOO-HOOOO! Watch out, you might get a call or two from me sometime in the future! Auntie Peggy, I will have mommie call on my behalf real soon!

much love,
kayman riley

October 11th-vino vino and more vino!

Yay Poppa! he is my hero!! who else can brag that their poppa is a wine maker? we bottled wine that poppa has been working on since last fall this weekend. hmmmnnn....it was a family affair in our venice backyard. i love that my poppa is sooooo creative and talented with so many things, bagpipes, architecture, and VINO! momma went and got some aged gouda and manchego/crackers to go with the vino, and it was a perfect day for bottling. i hung out in the backyard in my playpen and caught some zzz's and played in my swing. It was a good time had by all.

much love,
kayman riley

October 8th-korean bbq anyone

I have "virtually" traveled halfway across the world with my exotic repertoire for foreign grub and I am not even 10 months old yet! tonite, we went to k-town for some authentic bbq with the familia. hmmmmnnnn....spicy pork, chicken, kimchi....this rivals the sushi we had a few months ago when auntie alex came to visit. what even made it greater was enjoying with cousin noel, her room mate katelin and her sidekick, momma/poppa, and auntie peggy. a fantastic feast wtih family, who could ask for anything more? except a full tummy....

love,
kayman riley

love, love, love --

October 6th-celery face

Momma missed me sooooo much while she was gone that she had to capture some kodak moments as soon as she got back from chi-town. Here are some of me having a love affair with my celery sticks after a lunch with lentils (ok, not that I don't like lentils or anything, but it is NOT on my top ten list. I understand...yada yada about having enough protein in my daily servings etc, but it is NOT finger food, and these days...I am a PRO at feeding myself.)

love and kisses,
kayman riley

October 1st -auntie peggy comes for a visit

Mommie had to travel to a tradeshow for luxepets in chicago this month. I am such a lucky gal because auntie Peggy came out from bean town to hold the fort down with poppa while momma was away. We had such a great time! She is sooooo much fun! we went for walks in the morning, did lots of dancing around the living room, we played, read books, and just plain chilled. She was here from the first through the 13th of October. I am already counting the days til christmas when we will rendezvous again. I love you auntie Peggy Weggy!

With hugs and kisses,
kayman riley
